How to measure your leg to properly choose your boots

Three quick measurements so you can order your boots in complete confidence: shaft height, calf circumference, and ankle circumference.

1) Shaft height

Stand straight. Measure in a straight line from the floor (barefoot) to the point where you want the top of the boot to reach, using the photo as a guide. Do not follow the curve of the leg: the measurement is taken in a straight line.
Tip: note the measurement in cm. Between two heights, choose the lower one to avoid discomfort behind the knee.

Measure the shaft height
Measure from the floor up to the desired height of the top of the boot.
Measure the calf circumference
Measure the widest part of the calf: tape level, snug but not tight.

2) Calf circumference

Standing or sitting relaxed, wrap a tape measure around the top part of the calf where the boot will end. The tape should be snug but not tight (slip a finger underneath). Measure both legs and keep the larger value.

3) Ankle circumference

Place the tape at the thinnest point just above the malleolus. Keep the tape level and snug. This measurement ensures easy closure and a sleek silhouette.

Measure the ankle circumference
Measure just above the ankle bone.

Fitting tips

  • Measure at the end of the day: the leg may be slightly more "full."
  • Take into account the socks/tights you will wear with the boots.
  • Between two measurements, favor the model whose calf/ankle circumference is closest.
  • Check out our boot size guide, visible in the visuals of each model.
