Your inbox is full of this season’s “NEW” because that is how every other brand gets you to buy. Fashion has trained us to be embarrassed by last year and discard it to make room for things we don’t need. Since my teens, I have been deeply uncomfortable with the vacuity of making people feel bad so that they consume, and with the waste it produces, so when I created TANYA HEATH Paris, I was determined to offer something radically better.
This September, I don’t have a new style or colour to show you, and I’m proud of that! TANYA HEATH Paris was never about creating artificial need, quite the contrary. With the click of a heel, the same beautiful pair of shoes metamorphoses into something else, taking you from day to evening, event to event and season to season. I do, of course, LOVE fashion, and I know chocolate brown is everywhere right now, but why buy another pair of shoes when you can indulge in a scrumptious new pair of heels?
Wearing shoes year after year only works if they are made to last, which is why timeless styling and impeccable quality have always mattered to us. Our suppliers are specialist Portuguese, French, Italian and Spanish workshops, and I am proud to announce that some of our key suppliers have now been chosen to work with LVMH brands!!! They are keeping us too, although as a small brand we will sometimes have to wait for a place in their increasingly tight production calendars. I’m happy to wait: I would rather have the quality. I can’t think of a better validation of the choices we made years ago, and we continue to offer our shoes at a fraction of traditional luxury prices.
So today, consider adding a pair of shoes, a new set of heels, or both, to a collection designed to change with your day and be worn year after year, rather than replaced by the next three-second fad.
